Today’s DreamwallStyle blog post is rather Qwerty!
Artist Sarah Frost really caught my attention, with her ‘Qwerty’ walls’ a different way of up-cycling! So lets find out more…
Sarah’s work examines our culture through the collection of its remains, such as discarded consumer objects. Rather than making representations to create an art object, Sarah will accumulate cast-off objects that already exist.
She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.
Frost’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions regionally in the USA, she had her first show in New York in 2010. She has also received numerous awards and grants, including the inaugural Riverfront Times’ Visual Arts Mastermind award in 2008 and grants from Arts in Transit and the Missouri Arts Council.
She won the Great Rivers Biennial 2010, a grant funded by the Gateway Foundation and solo exhibition at Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis.
Sarah has a permanent installation in ‘New York’ at the St James Hotel check out the website here: http://www.jameshotels.com/
